newton's thirdI still remember the day we first met,newton's third by *juliannecrea
when I fell for you, and I think you knew.
I think we both knew.
It was a slow descent and a sudden plunge all at once,
the kind of fall that you do not rise from.
It is said that every action has an equal and opposite reaction,
but I’m afraid we prove the laws of physics wrong.
There is no opposite reaction,
no falling out of love
after falling in love
with you.

how life can arrange itself into something
both perfect and imperfect all at once,
how I can seemingly lose you forever,
and somehow get you back.
I will not dwell on the how or the why, though.
Instead I will think of this feeling in my chest,
this feeling that fills me to the point of bursting.
I do not know how these things happen.
In fact, I do not know much about anything at all.
All I do know is this:
the same mistakes that led you from me brought you back.
And if this is all I know, it is all I need to know.
